PicoBox – Fast, Dustproof and Perfect for Rough Environments
Quiet as a whisper with integrated ventilation or flat, gravitherm heatpipeHerrenberg, 17.03.2009 - Dust, aggressive vapors and flying sparks are knock-out criteria for many PCs. Intrusion of smallest particles ends in a broken computer most of the time. However, BEG Bürkle’s new PicoBox runs reliably in extremly rough environments and at temperatures from 5° C to 50° C. This smooth operation is made possible by a dustproof, robust aluminium casing, which makes air interchange with its surrounding impossible.
A cooling element with two different cooling systems, is built in on top of the case, running quietly as a whisper at only 35 dB (A).

2.) Flat, gravitherm heatpipe, ensuring energy-efficient cooling (at surrounding temperatures from 5° C to 40° C). This newly developed method is based on the thermosiphon system’s principle of vaporization and condensation. It allows extremly high absorption and transportation of thermal energy.
According to request, processors by Intel: Atom, Intel Core Duo, Intel Celeron or by AMD: Turion or Mobile Sempron can be installed into PicoBox. Built-in 2.5” hard disk Hitachi Travelstar 5K320 comes with 160 GB and is ready for 24/7 operability. 1 GB, optionally 2 GB main memory ensures sufficient power for complex applications. Depending on mainboard by either Jetway, FujitsuSiemens or Kontron, up to 8 USB and 6 audio interfaces are available. The optionally integrated Wlan module allows smooth operation within a wireless network and is equipped with another useful tool: the latest bluetooth technology.
The new IPC measures 210 mm in length, 310 mm in width and 99 mm in height. It can be installed in almost any position by four fitting mounting brackets. Like all of BEG Bürkle’s industrial computers, it is available in blue or black powder-coated aluminium. Any other RAL colour is available on request.
